HIGH-PERFORMING, LOW-COST, AND LOW-MAINTENANCE ELECTRIC DIAPHRAGM PUMP
High-Efficiency Electric Diaphragm Pumps for Diverse Applications
Hunter Pumps presents its range of electric diaphragm pumps, a mechanically-driven alternative to air-operated diaphragm pumps. These positive displacement pumps feature a flexible diaphragm and integrated check valves, delivering fluids at high pressures efficiently. Unlike air-operated models, our electric diaphragm pumps are powered by electric motors, offering enhanced energy efficiency, reduced maintenance needs, and cost-effectiveness.
WHAT ARE ELECTRIC DIAPHRAGM PUMPS
WHAT ARE ELECTRIC DIAPHRAGM PUMPS?
Electric Diaphragm Pumps are a type of sealless process pump designed to transfer fluids efficiently and reliably. These pumps work by using a flexible barrier, or diaphragm, which moves fluid through the pump, creating a low-pressure area that allows them to transfer liquids with low, medium, or high viscosities, including those with solids—made from durable materials that can withstand acids and are widely used in various industries, including manufacturing.
Trust Hunter Pumps for a reliable, long-lasting GRACO electric diaphragm pump. Our Electric Operated Double Diaphragm (EODD) pumps offer low pulsation and smooth flow. They are energy-efficient, reducing consumption by up to 5 times compared to traditional air-operated diaphragm pumps. This means significant cost savings of up to 80% and trouble-free product life.
What are Electric Diaphragm Pumps used for?
Electric diaphragm pumps are versatile devices utilised in numerous industries due to their ability to handle a wide variety of liquids. They are especially effective when it comes to pumping corrosive chemicals, volatile solvents, viscous or shear-sensitive foodstuffs, pharmaceutical products, sticky fluids, dirty water, smaller solids, creams, abrasive slurry, oils, and gels.
Features & Benefits
Stalls under pressure
The EODD can stall under pressure, which means it eliminates the risk of damage to the pump or pipeline when there’s a blockage or a valve is closed.
Low pulsation mode
This feature benefits applications requiring low pulsation and smooth flow. The patented drive allows for the reduction or even elimination of pulsation, removing the need for expensive dampeners or surge tanks.
Flow control and batch dispense
The Graco EODD Motor Control provides two control methods – Flow Control and Batch Dispense Mode. Flow Control allows the pump to regulate its flow by adjusting the speed of the motor, while Batch Dispense Mode enables the pump to dispense a user-specified quantity of material.
Self-priming
The EODD has excellent self-priming capabilities, making it highly efficient for various applications.
Dry running
The unique diaphragm lock system of the EODD enables it to run dry indefinitely without causing any damage to its inner mechanisms or diaphragms.
Electric diaphragm pumps are versatile and energy-efficient, making them an ideal choice for various industries, including manufacturing. They can handle a wide range of fluids, offering reliable and cost-effective solutions.
ADVANTAGES OF ELECTRIC DIAPHRAGM PUMP
Electric Diaphragm Pumps offer numerous benefits, enhancing efficiency and reliability in various applications.
- A significant reduction in pump failures and, therefore, less downtime or maintenance costs
- A significant reduction in energy consumption (versus air-operated diaphragm pump)
- Value for money, as an electric diaphragm pump can handle a wide range of applications, even slurries or abrasive/corrosive fluids
- No fluid leakage
- Much less pulsation (no need for a pulsation dampener)
- Lower energy consumption compared to air-operated pumps
- Low energy cost, making it a cost-effective solution for businesses
- Guarantees zero fluid leakage, ensuring smooth operation
- Generates minimal pulsation, removing the necessity for a dampener

Tips for Buying a Submersible Pump
Capacity Check
Know your needs and match them. Capacities range from 7,500 to 18,000 litres per hour. Anything less is a compromise.
Delivery Head
This is the maximum elevation your pump can achieve. Choose accordingly.
Manual or Automatic
Want a set-and-forget system? Select for a float switch. Manual operation has its merits but requires vigilance.
HOW DOES AN ELECTRIC-OPERATED DOUBLE DIAPHRAGM (EODD) PUMP WORK?
The Electric Operated Double Diaphragm (EODD) pump runs on electricity instead of compressed air. Like an air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pump, it can stall under pressure and run dry. Also known as a mechanically driven diaphragm pump, these pumps have fewer parts than other models, making changeovers quick and minimising downtime. The electric drive is energy efficient, reducing consumption by up to five times compared to traditional pumps.
They are built to resist corrosion and have a long product life. Some EODD pumps have surge suppression and electronic control, which allows them to be controlled by a PLC or SCADA system. They can handle various fluids, including corrosive and abrasive ones, and are available in both air and electric configurations with similar features and benefits.
